Pediatric Physiotherapy

Pediatric Physiotherapy aims to help each baby, child and adolescent to achieve their maximum potential to operate independently and to promote their active participation at home, the school and the community (APA American Association of Physiotherapy).

There are different methods of intervention or therapeutic approaches and all of them are at the service of each child to improve their health and function, achieve the maximum of their abilities, and develop their personal and social skills.

Our focus is on the child and the family, bearing in mind that, together with the environment, everyone is of essential importance as facilitators of the development of the physical, mental and emotional potential of the child.

Intervention can be carried out in an aquatic playful environment that can offer multiple learning possibilities and promote its development and evolution. Aquatic Therapy utilizes the physical properties of water with the aim of improving and rehabilitating function, and that is carried out in a pool with specific characteristics by an expert physiotherapist.

The application is based on specific methods which together with the concepts mentioned above, ultimately seek to meet the objectives agreed between the child, the family and the professional, adapted at every moment of the process and the degree of evolution.

Sessions with Elisa

A Sacred Dialogue with Water

Water is a space for transformation. As a trauma-informed physiotherapist and internationally recognized aquatic therapy specialist, I guide profound healing journeys through a psychosomatic and systemic approach. Each session is crafted to restore physical and emotional balance, honoring autonomy, body awareness, and the release of somatic imprints.

My core modalities —Craniosacral Therapy in Water ™ and Watsu®— intertwine in an organic flow, allowing the body to rediscover its innate wisdom. The warm, buoyant water becomes a safe container, gently supporting nervous system regulation, deep integration, and Health.

Where Water Embraces

Nestled in the heart of Chamberí (Calle de los Olivos, 4), Valle36 is a sanctuary of stillness. With 25 years of history, this center has held countless healing stories. Its heated pool (32º-33ºC) is designed for therapeutic work: a private oasis bathed in natural light, where retractable windows open to the garden in warmer months, blurring the line between indoors and the open sky.

The changing rooms, adapted for moms and babies, and the lush garden corners add layers of tranquility. The location is seamlessly connected: metro (Guzmán el Bueno L6/L7, Metropolitano L6) and bus lines (2, 45, C1, C2), with regulated parking and wheelchair access.

The Power of Two in Therapy.

The most effective therapists don’t just rely on clinical skills—they build strong, genuine connections with their patients. They excel in Facilitative Interpersonal Skills (FIS), constantly reflect on their practice, and commit to Deliberate Practice—the proven method to master any field.

At Supershrinks™ Project, Elisa Muñoz Blanco, Íñigo Rodríguez Echevarría and/or Gemma Rubio Martín join forces to create a unique therapeutic space. Working in tandem, they support individuals and couples, blending evidence-based science, human warmth, and an unwavering dedication to clinical excellence.

Science backs it up:

The therapist’s role is a key predictor of treatment success.

Excellence isn’t innate—it’s earned through effort, time, and a mindset of growth.
