(50 hours accredited by the Watsupath™ Training Institute https://watsupath.com and the Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association W.A.B.A. http://waba.pro for the Watsu® professional training path)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Watsu® 2, also known as Expanded Flow, is an in-depth training designed for practitioners who wish to refine their therapeutic presence in the water, expand their movement vocabulary, and begin to truly individualize each session.
Throughout this course, students integrate the principles of Shiatsu applied in the aquatic environment, developing a more refined listening to the receiver’s body, movement patterns, rhythm, and responses. The focus gradually shifts from technique to conscious therapeutic accompaniment, learning to support, guide, and respond from the Hara with greater precision, fluidity, and coherence.
This level represents a turning point in training: practitioners move from “performing a sequence” to inhabiting a session, exploring depth of contact, quality of presence, and creative adaptability within the structure of Watsu®.

COURSE CONTENTS (5 days, 50 hours)
During Watsu® 2, you will expand your repertoire of aquatic movements and deepen your understanding of Shiatsu fundamentals as applied in warm water. You will learn to read the receiver’s body in motion and to respond in a more precise, attuned, and therapeutic way.
The practical focus will include:
- Intermediate movements and advanced transitions that enrich and bring continuity to the session
- Application of Shiatsu points and meridians in the water, integrated in a functional and sensitive manner
- Working from the Hara as a central axis of support, direction, and presence
- Depth of listening, pacing, and therapeutic accompaniment, adapted to everyone
- Building more organic, coherent, and personalized sessions
Learning is grounded in direct experience, supervised practice, and the conscious exploration of one’s own body as a therapeutic instrument.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of Watsu® 2 / Expanded Flow, you will be able to:
- Expand the positions and transitions learned in Watsu® Transition Flow, incorporating new stretches and variations adapted to each body.
- Adjust your work to the person you are holding, developing sensitivity, deep listening, and real-time responsiveness.
- Analyze which movements need to be repeated on both sides and which do not, learning to optimize time, rhythm, and session structure.
- Integrate Hara-based work as the foundation for stability, presence, and therapeutic coherence.
- Individualize each session, respecting the physical, emotional, and energetic needs of the receiver.
- Complete and deeply understand the standard Watsu® sequence, using it as a living, flexible structure, and preparing to ultimately release the sequence in Watsu® 3.
