How the therapeutic alliance influences the patient’s experience and clinical outcomes.
With Jorge Sánchez Mateos
Online Continuing Education Masterclass
(6 hours accredited by the Watsupath™ Training Institute https://watsupath.com))
PRESENTATION
The quality of the therapeutic alliance is one of the factors that most strongly influences clinical outcomes, regardless of the technique or intervention model used.
However, despite the growing body of scientific evidence, the therapeutic alliance remains one of the least developed competencies during the training of many healthcare professionals.
Over the past few decades, research has consistently shown that the quality of the therapeutic encounter influences treatment adherence, the perception of safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
Beyond procedures and techniques, people respond to the quality of the relationship they establish with those who support them. The ability to build trust, understand the patient’s experience, and establish shared goals is an essential part of any effective therapeutic intervention.
This Masterclass offers a practical, evidence-based approach to building safe, collaborative, and effective therapeutic relationships within contemporary clinical settings.

His work has focused particularly on the study of the therapeutic alliance, clinical communication, contextual factors, interoception, and the role of the therapeutic relationship in processes of change and recovery.
He combines his clinical practice with the training of healthcare professionals, teaching courses, seminars, and lectures on relational skills, the therapeutic encounter, pain, and contemporary physical therapy.
He is currently finalizing the publication of his first professional book, in which he explores the therapeutic alliance, clinical communication, context, touch, and other elements that permeate everyday clinical practice and that often take a back seat to the more technical aspects of treatment.
