Created and taught by Sergio Ripoll Gómez and Elisa Muñoz Blanco
23 January 2027 · Fundación San José Hospital · Madrid, Spain
16 hours of hybrid training accredited by the Watsupath™ Training Institute and eligible for recognition within the WATSU® professional pathway of the Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association (WABA), in accordance with current regulations.
PRESENTATION
Therapeutic practice always takes place within a relationship.
Every clinical encounter is influenced by a person’s history, the systems they belong to, their present bodily experience, and the therapist’s ability to remain available, regulated and aware within the relationship.
In the aquatic environment, these dimensions take on a particular depth. Buoyancy, contact, shared movement and the sensory experience of water create a unique context for observing and understanding relational dynamics, regulatory processes and patterns of organisation that often remain outside conscious awareness.
This Study Group offers an experiential, clear and rigorous exploration of therapeutic attitude, integrating systemic perspectives, contemporary somatic approaches and clinical experience in water.
Throughout the training, we will explore how relational systems, bodily experience, and processes of regulation and co-regulation influence the way we accompany others, and how these perspectives can be brought into practice while maintaining clear professional boundaries and an appropriate therapeutic framework.
The programme brings together two complementary perspectives. Sergio Ripoll Gómez, drawing on his experience in systemic-family therapy, Family Constellations and somatic approaches to trauma, and Elisa Muñoz Blanco, drawing on her clinical, teaching and research experience in physiotherapy, aquatic therapy and somatic approaches, bring together different perspectives that converge in a broad understanding of the person, the relationship and the therapeutic context.
The result is a space for exploration in which body, relationship and context are understood as parts of the same system, bringing together theory, direct experience, practice and clinical reflection.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THIS STUDY GROUP?
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basic principles of the systemic approach and their application to therapeutic practice.

- Develop greater awareness of their own therapeutic presence.
- Identify observation and intervention resources from somatic perspectives.
- Understand basic principles of regulation and co-regulation in clinical contexts.
