Raquel López Paños

In contact with water from a young age, she´s been a swimmer and professional water polo player. She completed her physiotherapy studies at the European University in 2002, where she combined her work as a swimming instructor with a physiotherapy degree. 

She specialized in pediatric and adult neurological physical therapy, where she developed her professional career with various academic courses in neurology, motor control and therapeutic exercise, working at the Madrid Multiple Sclerosis Association for four years starting in 2008.

She fulfilled her passion for aquatic therapy by becoming an expert at the Rey Juan Carlos University in 2012 and developing part of her aquatic profession until 2018 at the San José Institute Foundation (Madrid). She has been the coordinator of Neurological Physiotherapy at RUBER Internacional Paseo de la Habana (Madrid) from 2018 to 2024. She coordinated the Neurological Physiotherapy area and was an Aquatic Therapist at PREMIUM Madrid in 2025. She is currently a self-employed Physiotherapist with a global approach to manual physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise, water therapy, and health and self-care education.

She has complemented her training with a Master’s Degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy based on clinical reasoning from the San Rafael-Nebrija University.

She continued her training in Myofascial Induction Therapy® and is currently studying Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. She is the first instructor certified by Elisa Muñoz Blanco to teach Module 1 of Craniosacral Therapy in Water™. She is an accredited Ai Chi® instructor, a Watsu® professional, and chairs the research committee of the Watsupath™ Training Institute.
