CRANIO SACRAL THERAPY IN WATER™
Cranio-Sacral Therapy in Water™ or CST in Water™ is a therapeutic concept designed to balance the craniosacral rhythm and release the restrictions of the connective tissue throughout the body, taking advantage of the thermal and mechanical properties of the aquatic environment (Güeita, 2015).
I developed it nourishing myself with Watsu® (WAter ShiaTSU or Shiatsu in water) and craniosacral therapy (CST). Both share some common principles: listening to the most subtle internal rhythms, facilitation of spontaneous movements and tendencies of the body, observation of need, respect for limitations and a therapeutic framework from the “Being”, and not the “Doing” (Muñoz Blanco, 2010).
The patient, being in flotation, can move in an uninhibited manner that expresses changes in tissue tensions and mobility. As tissues release constraints, their viscoelasticity changes and they come into better functional alignment (Upledger and Vredevoogd, 2010).
The therapist or facilitator will have to follow and accompany this movement with the appropriate stimulus and technique. The support of the therapist and the water create a space where the patient can surrender and trust, participating in the change through exteroception, proprioception and interoception (Güeita, 2015).

COURSE CONTENTS (50 hours)
Understanding the body as an interrelated Unity where more tangible areas coexist with the more subtle, the Facilitator finds a space for self-knowledge. These bases provide the therapeutic frame where, wrapped by the support of the Water, the Patient ́s healing process is possible.
From immersion in a deeper anatomical knowledge, we explore the frontiers of inherent plan of treatment, with the Body as a guide.
Once the cells and tissues can speak directly, easily lead Therapist and Patient in an efficient and effective way back to Health. This is the future of modern medicine.
By the end of this 50 hours module, you will be able to:
– Discover how to integrate Sutherland’s technique for identifying lesions into the CranioSacral Therapy Protocol.
– Enhance your ability to conduct whole-body evaluations focusing on the physiological phenomena that occur.
– Practice evaluating and treating cranial-base dysfunctions.
– Explore the concepts of SomatoEmotional Release®, facilitate the release of suppressed emotions that may be inhibiting complete structural releases.
– Refine listening, presence and comprehension skills.
